30 Dec Are you about to file for a Trade Mark on your own? Watch this video first.
We can do a number of checks, and just make sure that it’s all clear before you file for a trade mark on your own.
If you’ve come up with a really good name for the business or for new product name or a new logo, you might be tempted to file for a Trade Mark on your own. But here’s what we advise you to do.
Come to us first, and we can do some complimentary checks for you, do some high level searches of the Trade Mark Register, Asic, the Business Register and then general google searches and having a look at domains and all the rest, and whether their available first, before you go ahead and market your new business name, logo, tagline, slap line, byline, derivative product.
Whatever it is that you’re gonna be using as a badge of origin for your business.
Come to us first. We can do a number of these checks, and just make sure that it’s all clear.
And then we recommend doing a heads, trade mark headstart.
To see whether IP Australia got an issue with the trade mark, or whether IP Australia thinks that somebody else may have an issue with the trade mark.
And that’ll take five to ten business days.
And then if that comes back all clear, we go ahead and we can grab the whole lot and make sure that you’re intellectual property is protected.
I hope that helps today.
