Once you have an international trade mark registration, it’s possible to add countries to your registration. This is known as “Subsequent Designations”. You may wish to add subsequent designations because your market is expanding or new countries of interest have joined the Madrid Protocol.
A request to add subsequent designations can be made through the International Bureau or IP Australia. Extra fees will need to be paid.
